I try to make a habit of creating an opportunity to spend some time photographing couples before their weddings. This really helps me get a sense of how they will be to work with on their big day, and it gives them a taste of what it’s like to have me peering at them through a lens all day long.
Having known Kate and Colin for a while, I was very happy to get the call to photograph their wedding coming up in March. While doing their (rather delayed!) engagement shoot , it was just as great seeing how comfortable they are in front of the camera, and how clearly their joy in each other’s presence shows though. Probably shouldn’t be surprising though, a kinder, happier, more in love couple I have yet to meet!
We made these photographs while dodging great hordes of toe munching ants and kamikaze mosquitos, on the farm Honingklip in Kromdraai, Gauteng.
